Mesotherapy After Care

DO NOT EXPOSE YOURSELF TO THE SUN
After you have undergone your microneedling procedure, stay out of the sun and do not apply any sunscreen, due to the toxins that may be contained in the lotion. Post procedure, the skin channels are completely open, and any toxins contained in topical applicants may be harmful to you.

DO NOT USE ANY “ACTIVE INGREDIENT” SKIN PRODUCTS
Post procedure, avoid any skin care product that has active ingredients. These commonly include things like Alpha Hydroxyl Acids, Retinol and other similar agents. The skin will be highly sensitive and these products will only irritate the it further.

USE COLLAGEN STIMULATING PEPTIDES
As microneedling serves to stimulate the production of collagen, the skin needs higher amounts of collagen than normal to recover optimally. Collagen Stimulating Peptides assist in that process, further aiding in the stimulation of collagen production.

AVOID THE USE OF MAKEUP AFTER TREATMENT
It is imperative that you let your skin “breathe” and recover for 24 hours after the procedure. The skin channels are open, and using a makeup brush can penetrate the pores, especially if they are very thin, causing further irritation. Using a makeup brush that has been used before can contaminate the skin and, consequently, lead to infections. Wait 24 to 48 hours before you apply face makeup to give your skin the necessary recovery time.

USE A COOLING FACE MASK
After you have undergone microneedling, you may experience some skin inflammation or redness. Using a cooling mask will help reduce the inflammation or redness of the skin, giving you more comfort.

USE AN ANTIOXIDANT SERUM
Antioxidant serums have properties that assist in healing the skin. Serums assist in soothing the skin and further reduce irritation.

AVOID SWEATING
As you sweat the pores of your skin will reopen, and the bacteria on your skin may enter the skin punctures. This can lead to either a reaction or infection.

DRINK WATER
It is important to stay hydrated before and after your procedure to help your skin heal and rejuvenate faster.

Semi Permanent Make Up & Microblading After Care

Post treatment-care is very important for the appearance and longevity of your treatment.

To Avoid Swelling

A gel ice pack can be applied to the area. Wrap the ice pack in a clean small towel to avoid moisture on the pigmented area. Apply this as needed. 3-5 minutes on then 3-5 minutes off.

The following must be avoided during all 7-10 days post-microblading procedure:

  • Increased sweating & face wiping, Swimming, Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi, Sun tanning or salon tanning
  • UV/UVA Rays or chemicals as they have been known to cause a shift in color and premature fading

  • Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid on the face or neck

  • Picking, peeling, or scratching of the micro pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment

  • Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds

  • Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles

  • Touching of the eyebrow area (except for when rinsing and applying the post-care cream with a cotton swab)

DO - Please wash your face carefully around the eyebrow without getting water on the treated area.  During the shower, keep your face away from the showerhead or take a bath.

DO – Apply Coconut Oil OR Aloe Vera Gel to your brows liberally at least 2-3 times a day for 7-10 days following the procedure. Itching and flaking will appear during the first seven days post-microblading procedure. This is normal. DO NOT pick of the ‘flakes’ allowing them to shed naturally. If you pick, scratch or rub your brows you will remove brow shape and colour with it.

Note

Colour will appear very intense and dark immediately after your procedure. The colour is sitting on top of the skin. Once the skin starts healing or flaking, the colour will fade considerably as it heals beneath the skin.

The final colour should not be considered for approximately 6-8 weeks after the final visit. Do not be alarmed if it appears that most of the colour is flaking off. Some of this crusting will appear on your Q-tip- this is normal. This is the superficial colour and is part of the natural healing process.

The sun can cause fading to the pigmented area. Always wear a light coat of sun block on pigmented areas.
